Dr. Combs graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of California, San Francisco, Medical School. He is board-certified in Family Practice and has served as the Chief of Staff of Sharp Health Care Murrieta (Now Rancho Springs Hospital).

He has hospital privileges at Fallbrook Hospital,  Rancho Springs and  Inland Valley Hospital and is a well respected physician in the community.   Dr. Walt Combs also has been going to Haiti since the 1990s and is a supporter of the Haiti Endowment Fund.  Dr. Combs has personally helped over half a dozen Haitians with severe medical problems come to the United States for medical care they would not have been able to have otherwise.
